Members of the Garissa County public service board have been sworn in.

The swearing-in ceremony was revealed on Wednesday by the county's governor Ali Bunow Korane.

The three members who took an oath are Abdullahi Mohamed Keinan, Abdi Hassan Ahmed, and Abdirizack Hussein Shafat.

Korane said that the 3 were rigorously vetted before being chosen for the job and getting the approval from the Garissa County Assembly.

"Witnessed the swearing-in of 3 members of Garissa County Public Service Board:1. Abdullahi Mohamed Keinan2. Abdi Hassan Ahmed3. Abdirizack Hussein Shafat.The members that have been duly vetted and approved by Garissa County Assembly will join the serving board members, " Governor Korane tweeted.

The members of the board will be charged with the responsibility of ensuring that the human resource policies crafted by the county government of Garissa are in line with the relevant national laws.

Korane is in his first term as the governor having ousted Nadhif Jamaa from office after winning the 2017 gubernatorial contest.

He has been pursuing a policy of giving county jobs to people who hail from Garissa county.

The public service board will be instrumental in ensuring that the locals who are fortunate to get the county jobs have the requisite skills.
