Former Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto has warned Deputy President William Ruto against depending on Mt Kenya voters for his 2022 presidential bid.
The ex-chair of Council of Governors said that Mt Kenya region is notoriously known for betraying political pacts and would be a political novice to entirely depend on it.
He said that despite the region having in 2013 promised that it would return favour by voting the DP in 2022 after he marshaled the Rift Valley to vote for President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2013 and 2017, Mt Kenya voters decide on where to cast their vote a few days to the election.
“We also know something about Central region. We are not new in this country and we have seen elections. Central region will play all sorts of games in between and in the last three weeks, they will decide where to vote and they will not tell anyone, you will only see the results,” Ruto said during KTN's Point Blank show.
The vocal politician also faulted President Uhuru saying that unlike before the 2017 elections where he used to speak fondly of the DP’s 2022 presidential bid, he has now gone mute.
