The two years old died while being taken to hospital after he was shot by a police officer on Sunday evening.

According to a source who spoke to Citizen Digital, the police had been dispatched to Soweto area to arrest chang'aa sellers.

However, when they arrived in the area, they were met with a confrontation from the sellers.

As things heated up, one of the police officer withdrew his firearm, then started shooting.

Unfortunately, the innocent two years old, who was playing around that area was hit by a bullet.

The kid, while being rushed to Kiambu Level Five Hospital, passed away.

Residents in the area condemned this act noting that it was reckless for the police officer to use his gun on chang'aa sellers.

Chang'aa business has been a menace in this area where the police fight with sellers every time they are sent to deal with them.

This comes at a time the government has declared total war against drug peddlers, illegal alcohol, corruption among other impunity in the country.

The police have not released any official statement regarding this incident.
