A Nairobi Court on Tuesday blocked three members of the Ngirita family from accessing money deposited in their account at the Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB).
While delivering the orders, Justice John Onyiego said the family will not access the cash until further notice.
“That an order be and is hereby issued prohibiting Ngirita and her two siblings from accessing proceeds in Kenya Commercial Bank, Account Number 1109800584 pending hearing and determination of the case,” the court stated as quoted by Citizen Digital.
Three members of the Ngirita family namely; Jeremiah Gichina Ngirita, Phyllis Njeri Ngirita, and Lucy Wambui Ngirita were named as respondents in the case.
The order was issued after Opportunity Internationals Wedco Limited filed a case seeking to block the three from accessing funds in the account.
In the case, Opportunity Internationals Wedco Limited argued that one of the suspects acquired a Sh800, 000 loan from them, and offered a vehicle which has since been held over the scandal as security.
The automobile is a Toyota Station Wagon with registration number KCH 753U.
According to the firm, the loan requested by one of the suspects was successfully deposited to an account in KCB bank.
