The residents while speaking on Sunday in Kisii town led by Morito Omarita said most Kisii residents won't be available at 6 pm throughout the census exercise.

"Census officials should consider pushing the exercise from 6 pm to 8 pm so that they can find everyone at home. Most people, especially traders, may miss being counted because they return from the market very late," said Morito.

Samuel Murwa, another resident echoed Morito's sentiments saying census officials will only find children in various home at 6 pm especially during weekdays.

"Children will not be able to answer the questions enumerators ask. It is important for the exercise to be pushed to 8pm from 6pm so that parents can be available to answer the many questions asked by enumerators," said Murwa.

Kisii County Commissioner Godfrey Kigochi, in a quick rejoinder, said residents should avail themselves at their respective homes to be counted.

"The enumerators, in case they find a homestead without anyone to answer the questions, they will still return to the homestead to count," said Kigochi.
