BBI was formed following his March 9, 2018 handshake with President Uhuru Kenyatta and was mandated to collect views from the public on how to address the long-standing problems affecting Kenyans, which include inequality and electoral injustice.

The BBI team finalised public sittings about a week ago and is expected to submit its report within two months.

Raila said implementation of the BBI report will signal a new Kenya in the making, where citizens will live in peace, love and unity.

“We want to transition to a Kenya where justice and equity will be the new order,” the former Prime Minister said on Saturday.

He spoke in Gem, Siaya County, during the burial of Mama Eva Donde, the mother of former area MP Joe Donde.

The ODM boss told off some politicians who have been criticising BBI, stating that the team collected views from Kenyans across the country and there will be nothing to hide once its report is out.

“There will be no hidden treasures. The report will be handed over to the President and I, after which we will unveil its contents to the people to read and make recommendations,” Raila said.

A section of politicians allied to Deputy President William Ruto have vowed to mobilise Kenyans to shoot down the BBI proposals.

However, the team have received backing from political bigwigs who include Musalia Mudavadi (ANC), Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper), Gideon Moi (KANU) and Ford-Kenya's Moses Wetang'ula.
