The two leaders have openly differed in public, threatening to disintegrate unity among the Akamba community.

Former Nairobi Deputy Governor Jonathan Mueke now wants the two leaders along with Johnstone Muthama to reconcile.

In a Facebook post on Thursday, Mueke said the unity of Ukambani people would be greatly affected if their verbal attacks persist.

"While others are building bridges and talking reconciliation, in Ukambani we are being divisive and abusive. It would be great to see handshakes between Kalonzo Musyoka, Dr. Alfred Mutua, Hon. Johnson Nduya Muthama & Kivutha KibwanaTo move forward as one strong, powerful and respected block, we will need to gather them not scatter them. United we stand, divided we fall," he said.

On Thursday, Dr Mutua lashed at both Kalonzo and Muthama, accusing them of pursuing selfish interests in the name of Kamba community.

"These two leaders do not speak for the Kamba community but for themselves and their own personal interests," he said.

Recently, Kalonzo said he will only work closely with President Uhuru Kenyatta whom he believes will be in the political scene for a while.
