Speaking at Tartar Girls high school during a prize-giving day, Lonyangapuo said that former Presidential candidate Ekuru Aukot’s push for a referendum is dead on arrival.

He questioned why the politician is rooting for a change of the law yet he has done nothing to transform the lives of his people. He asked Aukot to go back to his home in Lodwar to help the people solve their problems rather than loitering across the country in the name of seeking to amend the law.

The vocal county boss wondered why the politician has not done much to fight the hunger situation in his backyard.

“I see this man running around the country with these papers to change the law. He has even forgotten where his home town Lodwar is situated, and I wonder what is wrong with him,” Lonyangapuo said, as quoted by Standard Digital.

He pleaded with Aukot to join hands with Governor Josephat Nanok to solve the problems his people have been facing before he considers the idea of rooting for a referendum.

His remarks were echoed by Kapenguria MP Samuel Moroto who also asked the politician to think of better ways to change the lives of his people before he pushes for the reduction of Members of Parliament.
