This is evident in the fact that the lawmaker unleashed a fresh attack on the county chief in response to his statement in Mombasa on Thursday.

Speaking during the official opening of the agricultural show by President Uhuru Kenyatta, Joho told off those opposed to the logistics business deal he recently signed with the Standard Gauge Railway, in an attack which was seemingly aimed at the lawmaker who had asked the Director of Public Prosecutions to investigate the ODM deputy party leader.

The governor in a quick re-battle on Thursday told off the legislator saying that he has the interests of the Coast residents at heart and that those who have issues should consider having a meeting with him.

“Most of us are here we are because of sacrifice; hence we are calling on our haters to come and work with us for the benefit of locals,” said the county boss as quoted by Daily Nation.

Ali dismissed Joho saying that his remarks were not good for the welfare of Mombasa residents even as he vowed to fight for them.

"I have listened to Hassan Ali Joho's speech in yesterday's opening of ASK Show in Mombasa, in the presence of the Head of State. To say the least, the speech was not only an insult to the coastal community but a far-fetched negative characterization of the people,?"  he said in a post on his Facebook page.
