The way you express yourself on a cover letter when applying for a particular job really matters. There are some phrases that should be avoided because they can cost you a potential job.
Here are some of them that you should not include in your application letters.
1. "I am confident I'm the perfect person for the job"
Steer clear of mentioning it on your cover letter as it lowers your chances of clinching that job you need so much.
If you want to prove your impeccability, then express it on your working experiences.
2. "I need the job because......"
Even if you need a job because of money or whatever reason, you should never mention it.
Focus on spelling out your experiences rather than indicating the reasons why you are in quest of the job. Let it be known, employers are not interested in knowing why you need the job but your experiences and that's all.
3. “I’m requesting a salary of … ”
Like said above, focus on venting your working experiences and how productive you are.
About the perks and stipends, you will ask for them later especially during an interview session. This phrase may prompt the hirer to disregard your application.
