Bomet county residents will on Friday have the opportunity to view the body and pay their last tributes to their late Governor Dr Joyce Laboso at Bomet green stadium.
Laboso succumbed to ovarian cancer at the Nairobi Hospital after months of treatment in the UK and India.
Bomet County Deputy governor Hillary Barchok while confirming the readiness of Bomet to receive their fallen leader added that their wish is to ensure that Laboso receives a decent send-off.
"We will do everything within our means in conjunction with the national government to ensure Dr Laboso is accorded a befitting send off. It is sad to lose such a pillar, but we shall soldier on to implement her development agenda,” said Dr Barchok on Wednesday.
Bomet County police boss Geoffrey Omoding also confirmed that the preparations to receive the body of the late governor are at an advanced stage.
"Preparations to receive the body for an overnight stay in Sotik and public viewing at the Bomet stadium are on course,” said Omoding.
Her body will leave Lee funeral home on Thursday for an overnight stay in Bomet County and later to her matrimonial home in Koru, Kisumu County on Friday where she will be laid to rest on Saturday this week.
The State has said it will give her a state send-off.
