A Makadara court has ordered a man, Ferdinand Atandi, to vacate his girlfriend's house in Tassia Estate, Nairobi.
This decision was reached after his girlfriend, Jackline Wanjugu reported that Atandi had scowled her after she refused to disclose her phone password.
Chief Magistrate Heston Nyagah made the ruling that will see the man never set foot at Wanjugu's house where he had been residing for 10 months. Magistrate Nyagah further ruled that Atandi should cut off communications with Wanjugu until the case is closed.
"I hereby order the accused person to pick his belongings and vacate the house, he should also cut any form of communication with the complainant until this matter is determined," he ruled.
Wanjugu accused Atandi of beating her severely and causing her injuries. She pointed out that she had nose bled after her encounter with Atandi and she sought help through Facebook when Atandi had left for washroom.
She also accused him of threatening to end her life while holding a knife.
However, her father, Daniel Gathuma came to her rescue after he was tipped by an identified woman through a phone call that Wanjugu's life was in danger.
He had to rush from Utawala to Tassia but upon reaching her daughter's house, Atandi vanished through the Kitchen window.
On the other hand, Atandi refuted the accusations asserting that Wanjugu was his wife and it was only a domestic issue, a claim which Gathuma dismissed saying that Atandi had not even paid dowry.
"I have not received any dowry payment from Atandi. They have been cohabiting and Atandi has only few belongings like clothes in the house,” Gathuma said.
Gathuma wondered what her daughter, who works as an attendant at SGR, could be doing with the Sh18,000 he usually sends her for rent. Atandi disclosed that they contribute towards it equally.
