Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has joined other Kenyans in mourning the death of football legend Joe Kadenge.

In a tweet,  Odinga described Kadenge as one of the greatest talents Kenya has ever had. 

He said that Kadenge was a true ambassador for the country and Kenyan soccer.

"We have today lost one of the greatest talents to ever grace a football pitch in our national uniform. Joe Kadenge was a true ambassador for the country and Kenyan soccer. May he rest in eternal bliss. May his spirit inspire more young people to pursue the game," he tweeted.

Kadenge died on 7th July at the Meridian hospital in Nairobi. His death was confirmed by his son Oscar.

He died at the age of 84, and will be remembered for his footballing prowess.

His body was transferred to Lee funeral home on Sunday afternoon. 

Leaders from different parts of Kenya have already started sending their messages of condolence following the development.
