Mr Echesa appeared to call out the dishonesty of the DP's critics, saying that they did not call the country's second-in-command names when he supported Raila Odinga's 2007 and president Uhuru's 2013 and 2017 elections.

He spoke in Saturday in Eldoret in an event that was graced by the DP.

"My brother the deputy president and I stood with our brother Raila. At that time the deputy president wasa good person because he was supporting Raila (Mimi na ndugu yangu naibu wa rais sisi tulisimama na ndugu yetu Raila. Wakati huo dgugu yetu naibu wa rais alikuwa mtu mngwana sana kwa sababu alikuwa anasaidia Raila)," Rashid Echesa said.

"But when time has come and he is seeking support, the deputy president is being called names in this country (Lakini wakati sasa imefika anasema jameni mimi nimesaidia wenzangu pia sasa ni wakati wangu, ngugu yetu naibu wa rais ameanza kuitwa majina Kenya hii, " he added.

The former cabinet secretary who was unceremoniously hounded out in a cabinet reshuffle, has been a long DP Ruto ally.

He has claimed that he was sacked because he openly supported DP Ruto's 2022 presidential ambitions.

Many see his politicking as the reason why President Uhuru sacked him and installed Ambassador Amina as his replacement.
