Political analyst Edward Kisiang'ani has mocked Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga over his 'People's President' tag.
Odinga took a mock presidential oath on January 30, 2018, at Uhuru Park, in a publicised event that was attended by thousands of his supporters.
In a tweet on Tuesday, Kisiang'ani mocked Odinga, saying he will not have completed his five-year term as 'People's President', by the time the nation will he returning to the polls, in August 2022, where a new president will be elected.
He wondered whether the former Prime Minister will resign from the position, to run for the real presidential slot or will wait for January 2023 to rake another mock oath.
"By election day in August 2022 , the 'People's President' will be remaining with about 5 months to complete his term. Will he then resign to vie for the Executive President or will he wait for end of January 2023 to renew his contract at Uhuru Park?" he posed in a tweet on Tuesday morning.
Raila took the oath as a way of demonstrating that he was the people's choice in the 2017 general election, where President Uhuru Kenyatta was re-elected.
This came after months of promises to his supporters, which began during the campaign period, where he declared that if rigged out by Uhuru, he would take his own oath.
The oath was administered by exiled lawyer Miguna Miguna under the watch of Ruaraka MP TJ Kajwang and Siaya Senator James Orengo.
