President Uhuru Kenyatta has appealed to leaders from different African countries to get involved in economic diplomacy as he seeks to leave behind a legacy when he completes his second and final term in power.
Speaking on Friday at Avani Victoria Falls Resort in the tourist town of Livingstone in Zambia, Uhuru said that the embracing economic diplomacy is among the best ways to handle joblessness not only in Kenya but also the entire African Continent.
The commander in chief of the armed forces, who had been welcomed to Zambia by President Dr Edgar Lungu, also said that the issue of joblessness is one of the greatest obstacles that continent has been facing.
He divulged that there is a need for leaders from different parts to join their forces so that they can utilize the resources within their reach for the sake of economic development.
Uhuru is expected to spend two days in Zambia on an official visit.
“Economic Diplomacy in Africa offers an opportunity to focus on the entire ecosystem for driving the prosperity agenda for our countries,” he said, as quoted by Capital FM.
The head of State further called on leaders to embrace peace in their quest for economic freedom.
