A 34-year-old mother of seven, has shocked many after she managed to get a mean grade of C+ in the 2019 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Examinations (KCSE)
Florence Muia said she was committed to succeed in her education, and held position one from form one till her last year in secondary school.
“Since my first day at the school, I was committed to success. I scooped position one from form one all the way to form four. I was appointed as the students’ head girl in my last year,” Muhia told the media on Saturday
Having previously left school about 20 years ago, she said her decision drop out of school was because her parents could not afford her secondary fees.
“I come from a humble background. I was raised by a single-mother, who could not afford my secondary education fees. I had lost hope, and opted to get married after it became clearer that my dream of attending school was shattered,” she said
However, she did not let her dream of becoming a lawyer go in vain, and took hold of the opportunity once it was presented to her by Kitui Woman Representative Irene Muthoni Kasalu.
