The DP who has been terming himself a son of a pauper has been riding on the tag, as he seeks to identify with the majority poor Kenyans ahead of his 2022 presidential bid.

But speaking on Wednesday, the MP said that his definition of the term is different from what the DP would want it to mean, urging Kenyans to keep off the DP and his political ambitions.

"According to me, a hustler is a person who has a lot of money but cannot explain the source of money. I don't want to be a hustler," he said.

The legislator made the remarks on KTN News' Pointblank show on Wednesday night, where he lamented that the continued use of the word is negatively affecting children.

He claimed that looking at the DP, the children are developing a belief that they can make a lot of money, with some bow losing interest in education, opting for week job professions.

"The hustler narrative is the reason why if you go to our schools now, children tell you I want to be a deejay and make lots of money," he added.

He opined that if used any longer, Kenyans might end up beginning to elect leaders by not looking at their leadership credentials, but the depth of their pockets.

To drive his point not home, the DP has since nicknamed his Karen residence "the hustler's mansion".
