It was not just any other draw but one that the Kenyan side pulled off right in the Egyptian turf, no mean task.

Thanks to that seemingly impossible feat, there have been animated discussions among Kenyans that the 2022 World Cup in Qatar could be well within reach if the Thursday results are anything to go by.

Kenya making it to the world cup is not an idle suggestion given the quality and depth of the Egyptian opposition that the Stars players so ably brought under their control.

The Egyptians participated in the 2018 World Cup in Russia, a testament to the fact that they are one of the best sides on the African continent.

A good number of their players ply their trade in top flight leagues across Europe.

That Kenya stood up to a bunch of world class players should say volumes about the potential of the Harambee Stars.

They demonstrated that they have what it takes to feature in the next edition of the World Cup.

All the team needs is support from the Kenyan government to ensure that they are well prepared to take on the world's best.

That support includes, but not limited to, paying players' wages in good time and pumping resources so that they have as many friendlies as they can
