County Executive for Trade, Tourism and Enterprise Development Adow Jubat said women will be major beneficiaries of the County revolving fund which was launched by Governor Ali Korane.

Jubat who was speaking on Wednesday at Garissa Primary school ground during the last day of the sensitization forum said the rest of the funds will go to youth and disability group.

He said the deadline to apply for the interest-free loans is close as he urged the women, youth and persons living with disability to ensure they apply for the loans.

The CeC urged those who wish to apply for the loans to avoid the last-minute rush.

“Let us avoid rumbling over missed opportunities. The county and national governments, as well as non-state actors, cannot fill the gap of rising unemployment,” said Jubat as quoted by Garissa County Government Press Unit on Facebook.

Governor Korane in June this year launched an Sh150 million revolving fund which will enable county residents’ access finances and generate self-employment with an aim of reducing poverty in the community.
