Nominated Nairobi MCA Anne Muthoni Thumbi has now threatened to sue the family of late Kibra Member of Parliament Ken Okoth following his cremation without her knowledge.
Through her lawyer Elkanah Mogaka, Thumbi said she will seek legal redress after she was barred from attending the cremation of the late lawmaker.
She has accused the family of the deceased of disobeying a court ruling regarding the cremation process.
Thumbi argued that the cremation process undertaken at the Kariokor Crematorium was undertaken secretly even when they had been asked to ensure she attends the event.
The family, through lawyer Edwin Sifuna, said it has observed the court ruling as far as the case is concerned and Ms Thumbi’s son Jayden Okoth was not required to be present in any of the events related to the deceased.
“I can confirm to you that Jayden was not included in the cremation ceremony and as it stands, the family is in disobedience of the court order and we will be taken action on the same on Monday,” Mogaka said as quoted by Nation.
Thumbi's family said it was not aware of the cremation process and wants justice served.
