The commission has listed 5000 job vacancies for applicants from different parts of the country. The vacancies are available for both primary and secondary students.

According to TSC Chief Executive Officer, Nancy Macharia the jobs are set to benefit Holders of Bachelor’s Degrees in Education with a minimum Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade of C+.

She noted that the demand for teachers has increased after the government put in place the 100 percent transition policy for all students across the country.

The commission is expected to recruit 4000 teachers for the High Schools and 1000 of them to teach in Primary schools across the country.

The graduate teachers who were already working in primary schools will be given the chances to transfer to high school under the new development.  The government has allocated Sh.2 billion for the recruitment process.

TSC is expected to recruit 12,626 teachers to ensure smooth learning at the schools after the government ordered all students to proceed to the next class.

“Interested candidates under this category should submit their applications to the secretary TSC through online platform not later than August 30,” said Macharia, as quoted by Standard.

The applicants have been advised to check on the TSC official website for more details.
