Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Director of Communications Philip Etale has asked the allies of Deputy President William Ruto not to stop attacking ODM Leader Raila Odinga and Interior CS Dr. Fred Matiang’i.
In a Facebook post on Wednesday, Etale said that the two have decided not to talk about President Uhuru Kenyatta's succession ahead of 2022 because they know that the electorate needs service delivery rather than sideshows.
"But when they make it their business to have H.E. Hon. Raila Odinga and Interior CS Dr. Fred Matiang’i their agenda in all their meetings, it leaves wondering why! You know, these two gentlemen have not even spoken a anything publicly about 2022 general election because they know pretty well that Kenyans need service and that election is an event which will come and go," he said.
He also said that the leaders do not have time to talk about the 2022 elections when they are expected to deliver on the duties granted to them by the President.
Etale retorted that Raila and Matiang'i's greatest desire is a united nation rather than empty talk. He went on to warn leaders who have been engaging in politics at the expense of development.
"They have no time to waste talking about something that is 900+ days away and therefore it is meaningless for busybodies to keep making them their point of reference. It is funny that instead of focusing on how to improve the lives of the people of Kenya, a section of politicians have elected to spend time and energy discussing people not interested in their talk.Good thing is that; they are ignored like a burst tyre," he added.
