Jackline Kerubo is claiming that her husband Pascal Omusungu on Thursday attacked and assaulted her after a disagreement ensued over vegetables.

She says that the husband was infuriated after she defied his warnings against her giving vegetables from their farm to a neighbour, after which he attacked and hit her.

“He warned me not to step out of the house with the vegetables. But I told him that was not going to stop me from helping my neighbour who has also been assisting,” she says.

She claimed on Monday that he repeatedly warned her against taking the vegetables to the neighbour, after which he hit her unconscious, only to wake up moments later.

When she woke up, she narrated, she discovered that her ears and lips were missing, and is now saying that this is not the first time she is being abused by the 51 year old.

“As I tried to leave the kitchen, he punched me and I fell down and lost consciousness. He then started biting my lips and ears. I only realised I had no lip and ears after I regained consciousness,” she told the Standard.

Kerubo said she was saved by her son who struck the man with a spade, and now wants police protection on grounds that the husband has been threatening her life.
