Former Harambee Stars coach Adel Amrouche is expected to be paid Sh108 million by the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) following an order by the Court of Arbitration for Sports.
The court noted that the amount will cater for damages done to Amrouche after his contract as Harambee Stars head coach got wrongfully terminated just five months into his five-year contract..
Amrouche, a Belgium international, together with his entire technical bench were fired after losing 1-0 to Lesotho in 2014.
The 1-0 aggregate loss meant the national team had been knocked out of the 2015 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
At the time of his sacking, FKF was under Sam Nyamweya.
Following his dismissal as Harambee Stars head coach, Amrouche was replaced by Bobby Williamson.
However, Bobby's contract was also terminated in 2017, after a new team headed by Nick Mwendwa took charge of FKF.
The Kenyan football governing body was seeking to settle the case out of court, but was not successful.
FKF has up to end of October to pay the former coach Sh108 million, failure to which Kenya risks being banned from the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
