A 36-year-old woman shocked villagers after she kicked out a man who inherited her 2 years ago for failing to provide for her and her 4 children on Sunday in Botoro village, Bonchari in Kisii County.
Locals led by Devis Motari said Peter Aramba was thrown out of the house by Millicent Kerubo after he failed to buy 1 kg sugar for them to use in preparing tea.
"Aramba inherited Kerubo 2 years ago after her husband died following a grisly road accident. Kerubo has been making complains about Aramba's who is irresponsible for over 4 months. She asked him to buy 1 kg of sugar because he had money but, he refused and went to a chang'aa den to drink," said Motari.
Mr Motari said when Aramba returned home, he found his clothes put in a sack outside and Kerubo ordered him to leave her compound before she could inform police officers.
"Aramba tried to beg but in vain. Kerubo insisted that she doesn't want to see him anymore because he is irresponsible so he picked his clothes and left the homestead," noted Motari.
Area assistant chief Charles Atancha confirmed the incident and urged men to be responsible.
"Men should satisfy their wives' need before going to inherit other people's wives. Aramba has been taught a good example which other men should copy," he said.
The administrator urged widowed women not to be cheap and accept to be inherited by men who will only be interested in sex.
