Detectives probing the murder of Rongo University student Sharon Otieno have been unable to unmask four people believed to have killed the seven-month pregnant girl.
According to journalist Barrack Oduor, with who Otieno was abducted with before he reportedly jumped off the vehicle, Micael Oyamo, Governor Okoth Obado’s PA, left them at the hands of four men.
The four are a driver of the car they had been ushered into by Oyamo, the co-driver and two men who had sandwiched Oyamo and Otieno between them in the back seat.
The murder plot might have been executed so well that not even the car that Oduor jumped off from has been nailed.
DCI boss George Kinoti has vowed to unravel the murder and apprehend the killers within three days. However, two weeks later only Oyamo and a former MCA have been arrested who obviously did not carry out the murder themselves.
Who are these four killers and why has a full machinery of sleuths seen as being led by the no-nonsense Kinoti unable to corner these four elements?
This is despite the fact that one of the persons targeted for killing escaped and have been helping police with investigations.
What if Oduor was not there? How bad would have been the situation?
Efforts by this writer to talk to sources privy to the ongoing investigations did not bear fruits on whether there are are watertight leads the police are pursuing.
It is also not yet clear if Oyamo, who has so far been treated as a major suspect in planning the murder, has given police any information on who the driver, co-driver and the other two men are.
