As Mashujaa Day fast approaches, President Uhuru Kenyatta has been subjected to online ridicule over his Head of State Commendation awards with Nyamira residents giving him a test of his life.
Last year, at the center of heightened political rivalry in Kenya, Uhuru awarded bloggers Pauline Njoroge, Robert Alai, anchor Jacque Maribe among others, raising tough questions over the choices.
And AP constable Joash Ombati is now a topic of discussion following his heroics in the streets of Nairobi, with Uhuru now under pressure to reward him.
"These are true heroes of this country and the president should reward him. We don't want to see a list like that one Robert Alai made it," said popular blogger Olivia Moraira alias Kabz Nyar Kisii.
Politician Philip Bosire added: " These are kind of people who should get HSC. We are monitoring to see if he will make it on Saturday."
Other users challenged governor John Nyagarama to consider awarding the Nairobi based police officer. He hails from Nyambaria Sub Location in Kitutu Masaba constituency.
At around 1pm local time, Mr. Ombati took a taxi and chased robbers who had hoodwinked unsuspecting member of the public who'd travelled from Voi to buy construction materials.
He managed to round them up at Parklands in Nairobi, recovering a stolen vehicle and an estimated cash of Sh400,000.
