Gatundu MP Moses Kuria has paid tribute to the late Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore who died of cancer on Monday.
In an interview on NTV Am Alive, Kuria said that Collymore was an easy guy and very accessible.
He noted that the deceased interacted freely with people from different walks of life and he will be dearly missed. He also said that Collymore was his personal friend and they enjoyed their friendship.
“He was an accessible guy, very warm and very easy. The mere act of listening, saying let’s listen to what Kenyans are saying is something I’ll miss that about him,” he said.
Kuria also said that he had wondered whether Collymore had what it took to replace his predecessor Michael Joseph but he did quite well following his appointment into the post.
"Fitting into Michael's shoes wasn't easy he was a towering figure. I asked Bob if he was going to embrace the limelight, he told me that Safaricom was going to hug the limelight, he let Safaricom grow and be," he said.
Collymore died after a long battle with cancer at his Nairobi home. Doctors had asked him not to make long term plans because of his poor health condition before his demise.
