Kenyan youths have been urged to be very keen on the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) debate before picking a side, on whether to back or oppose it.

The call comes three weeks after the BBI task force completed its report writing job, with the remaining job being to hand over the document to President Uhuru Kenyatta.

One Love Kenya organization wants youths to go through the document once out before making a decision.

The organization founder Kevin Cassypool says that they should avoid relying on influence from third parties, who are very likely to seek to use them to realize their own goals.

"Once the BBI report is out, youths should go through the same and make informed decisions and not rely on third parties whose only objective is to use them to actualise their ulterior agenda," he said.

In a statement signed by joint secretaries Paul Mwangi and Martin Kimani on October 23, the task force said that it's now waiting for Uhuru's nod to hand over its suggestions.

"The joint Secretaries have officially communicated to the Office of the President that the Building Bridges Initiative report is ready for handing over to the President," it read.

Should the report propose a referendum, the youth, being the majority, will heavily influence the fate of the same.

One Love Kenya is a youth-based organization which majors on tackling issues affecting the young generation, including drug abuse and corruption.

It also seeks to wipe out issues of radicalization, tribalism, crime and violence and seeks to come up with solutions to these issues through various ways, including sports.
