Mr Odinga has featured in Kenya's last three presidential elections, emerging second in all, although he disputed the outcome in all occasions.

In 2007, Odinga disputed the presidential results leading to post-election violence. He would later serve as a prime minister in the grand coalition government.

Speaking during an interview on Hot 96 FM on Wednesday, Kuria insisted that Mr Odinga will be on presidential ballot paper no matter the circumstances.

"Baba (Raila) is a very dangerous candidate. By the way, he has always been so so close to getting into State House. So yes, a life and death situation. Of course, he will run in 2022, you can take that to the bank," he said.

Kuria has often said he will also be in the 2022 presidential race.

In previous instances, Mr Odinga has often dismissed calls to run in 2022, arguing that he's only focused on helping President Uhuru Kenyatta fix his legacy.

“Raila Odinga strongly objects to reports appearing on the Sunday Nation that put him in a presidential race he has not declared any interest in and which does not exist currently,” he said through his spokesman Dennis Onyango.

Mr Odinga said he was “deeply disappointed” by the media reports, adding that his calls for ODM to prepare for grassroots elections were twisted to mean he is in the presidential race.
