The hiked cost of fuel dominated 2-hour meeting between Raila Odinga and former presidential candidate Peter Kenneth at Capitol Hill, it has emerged.
Mr. Kenneth has been in political cold after losing to Mike Sonko in gubernatorial seat.
And in a statement by Dennis Onyango, Kenneth reportedly offered to help government find ways of raising money without taxing poor Kenyans.
"Mr. Kenneth offered to use his Treasury experience to help government raise money without affecting the poor.
"He will do that to ensure that this is done according to the law. He said the government can raise money without affecting fuel prices through taxation," said Onyango.
A general outcry has hit the country following unprecedented increase of fuel prices due to 16 per cent VAT.
In other parts, transportation and food costs have gone high as MPs threatened to impeach treasury CS Henry Rotich.
