The Division of Revenue Bill 2019 is expected to be top of the agenda when both the Senate and the National Assembly resume their sittings on Tuesday.
The legislators, Capital FM reports, are expected to revise the allocation of Sh316 billion.
This is after the Senate made an about-turn on the allocation of funds to the counties following the plea of the governors.
Before the approval of the bill, governors lamented that the activities at the counties were on the verge of collapse after the two houses differed on the amount to be allocated to devolved units.
Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkome and his minority counterpart James Orengo had affirmed that they will not relent in their quest for more funds for the county governments before the change in tune.
The Senators conceded to the call of President Uhuru Kenyatta to pass the budget allocation.
Uhuru had asked the governors to accept the funds allocated to their governments before they moved to court over the same.
The Council of Governors had threatened to crumble the services of the counties after the stalemate persisted before the change in the stand of the senators.
Orengo and Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka denied claims that they were coerced to push for the acceptance of the bill to end the standoff between the two houses.
"Ours was a painful and patriotic decision that was informed by the need to avert the biting crisis in the counties. We just retreated, which should not be interpreted as cowardice," Lusaka said as quoted by the Standard.
