It was laughter and memories on Friday when Deputy President William Ruto reunited with one of the men he spent his schooling days with while studying in Uasin Gishu.
During a tour of Luanda in Vihiga on Friday, Ruto met with, Sospeter Ojuwang, one of the men he spent his high school days with at the Wareng' High School in Eldoret.
The DP proceeded to wish the latter well, adding that they also flashed back to the good old days when they were young.
"Delighted to meet and reunite with Sospeter Ojuwang, a former schoolmate at Wareng High School, Eldoret during my visit to Luanda, Vihiga County. We reminisced on the good days of our youth, enjoyed a hearty laugh and wished him well," he tweeted.
The DP who was attending a women's empowerment programme also reiterated his calls for peace and unity, terming it the only way to achieving prosperity.
He also stressed on the need or consensus, purposeful engagement and cooperation as the other ingredients for national prosperity.
"It is only through unity of purpose; building consensus; purposeful engagement and cooperation across the political divide and a focus on project implementation that leaders will ensure a united, indivisible and prosperous nation," he added.
The DP has been very vocal lately, urging Kenyans to shun politics of ethnicity, especially as the nation approaches the 2022 polls.
