Bodaboda officials in Masaba North, Nyamira County have laid down measures to ensure no students are allowed to operate as bodaboda riders during the long December Holiday.
The officials led by Masaba North Bodaboda chairman Dominic Babu speaking on Saturday evening in Keroka town during a meeting with bodaboda officials appealed to officials across all the stages in the region to ensure no underage riders are allowed to ferry passengers.
"I urge my colleagues in the bodaboda sector not to give students who are on long holiday their motorbikes to operate as riders. Students should remain at their homes for holiday revision as they wait for schools to re-open next year," said Babu.
The chairman also warned that those who will be found giving students their motorbikes will face the law.
He urged parents to take good care of their children who are on holiday.
"As officials, we can not allow learners and untrained riders to operate. I will work closely with other officials across the region to ensure learners and untrained riders are kept out of our roads during this festive season as this will help reduce accidents involving bodaboda riders," he noted.
Babu further said drunk bodaboda riders will not be tolerated.
