Wahome has been on the spotlight lately, following her attacks on President Uhuru Kenyatta last week, where she accused the president of running down the economy.

On Monday, her supporters convened a press conference to defend her from attacks from Uhuru's supporters, but it was disrupted by a rival group accusing her of ridiculing Uhuru.

The group led by Alex Mbote criticised Wahome for disrespecting Uhuru, the Mt Kenya kingpin, saying that herself and members of Tangatanga will no longer be entertained in the region.

"We have given team tanga tanga time to crisscross the county but we are not going to give them space anymore,” he said, during a verbal exchange that almost turned into a fistfight.

The other team defended the MP, who is a close ally of Deputy President William Ruto, saying that she only aired her opinion, which should not be taken as an attack on anyone.

"We are angry when we see the MP being attacked because she had done nothing wrong, she just spoke her mind,” said their leader Laban Thuo.

He termed the anti-Wahome team a group of hired goons deployed to disrupt the press conference.

Wahome's remarks continue to draw attacks from the political scene, with Uhuru allies firing unending salvos at her.
