Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Kipchumba Sudi has fired back at President Uhuru Kenyatta almost immediately after the head of state asked politicians to stop discussing graft issues at funerals and public forums and instead report to relevant agencies like the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

In a sarcastic Facebook post, Sudi suggested that it would not be possible for the DCI to independently probe graft cases as it had links to the president.

"Well, well, well said Mr President, I agree with you that we must not address these issues in funerals, weddings or other public functions. But unfortunately, Uhuru is DCI and DCI is Uhuru," posted the vocal MP alongside a video of the president asking politicians to report any corruption issues to the DCI.

The head of state made the remarks that seemed to be targeted at a section of Deputy President William Ruto allies when he officially opened the 6th Devolution Conference in Kirinyaga, Tuesday.

DP Ruto allies among them Sudi and Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei have accused the DCI of being used as in graft purge as a 2022 political tool.

"I want to remind you, during the late Samuel Kivuitu's era, time elections were rigged in Kenya; he was used. He went down an unworthy path. If you (Kinoti) won't take care, you will follow the same path because what you have done has destroyed many Kenyans lives and cost them their careers, "  Sudi told the DCI on Sunday during a church function at his constituency.
