The families of the victims of the grisly road accident that occurred at Nangili along the Eldoret-Kitale road are at a loss in explaining the loss of their loved ones.
Members of the bereaved families have been left in a difficult situation as those who died in the accidents were the sole breadwinners of their families.
"Yesterday at around 2:00 pm we began receiving unconfirmed reports. But at around 4:00 pm we received a report that my husband had passed away, and that is when we asked what had happened. We were told it is a road accident that had taken place (Jana kama saa nane hivi tulianza kupashwa habari yenye haikuwa correct sana. Lakini ikifika saa kumi tulielezewa ripoti mume wang ameondoka na ndio tukaanza kuulizana kulienda aje. na tukasikia ni ajali ilitendeka)," Margaret Wambui recounted.
She added that the last time she spoke to her husband, they were planning on how their children will go back to school.
Nancy Wanja who lost a brother claimed that her family had lost a pillar who was supporting the family members and educating the children.
"We as a community have lost a pillar. He helped my mother. He was educating the children of our brothers who had passed away (Sisi kama jamii tumepoteza pillar katika jamii yetu. Alikua msaada wa mama yangu. Alikuwa anasomesha watoto hata wa mandungu zangu ambao walipass," she said.
