Addressing the media on Friday, led by Engineer Richard Mwebi, they claim engineers have visited the street severally promising to have it facelifted but nothing much has happened.

"I have been doing business here for years. This street is muddy and watery. It's impassable to be precise. Its a street with banks and huge business but it remains neglected. We have planted bananas until such a time the county will be willing to construct it," said Mwebi.

Mwebi revealed that he is aware money for its facelift was allocated for survey contractors who have not shown up since then.

Kisii County residents have since taken to social media expressing different views citing that a facelift of the street is long overdue.

"Its so horrible seeing my Home town in that situation, no running water,no street lights, Hawking everywhere.. Boda Boda menace etc etc..Ongwae was not the right CEO in that county from the word go..many small towns are doing much better... For instance Machakos, Murang'a are much better organized and very clean TOWN...," George Orangi said.

Another resident Charles Obiri said "Let's accept facts, Gorvenor ongwae has done a lot for kisii town in his two terms, first Ena coach Enterprise, two sky scrapers in the center of town are big achievements in comparison with one small unpaved street, let's appreciate and give him another term,"

"Surely ukweli usemwe is Ongwae waiting for devolution money again after he has pocketed all the money he received in his first term in  office ....is the only governor with no controversy eating silently the money of Kisii community is just hiding behind Kisii stadium of which he never  initiated...Ongwae don't worry but you will carry all the Kisii COUNTY problems to your home," Commented Wilson Kenya
