The Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama made unexpected debut for his club, Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday early kick-off.
Mauricio Pochettino's side suffered a heavy defeat of 2-1 from Leicester United.
The two-super goals from James Madison and Ricardo Pereira were enough to rock Tottenham Hotspur despite Harry Kane's early strike.
Speaking after Saturday clash Mauricio Pochettino was asked if he still has confidence in Victor Wanyama after giving him a start against Leicester united. He openly said that he has never sidelined any of his players.
"I don't know which comment you are referring to, I was talking about. The problem is sometimes you take the wrong way my words or maybe my English is not so good after seven years. I was not talking about him. I was talking about in general, never talking in reference to my players or in this case Victor" said Pochettino as quoted by London times.
Pochettino also refuted the claims that he had said he will not accord Victor Wanyama playtime because the club is not 'charity'.
Earlier Wanyama's performance during Saturday match annoyed a section of the fans who criticized him on his social media.
Wanyama had been linked to moving to different clubs including his former club Celtic and club Bruges of Belgium.
