Economist David Ndii has dragged political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi to the loss of millions from Ford Foundation, adding that the latter is the reason why former Principal Secretary John Githongo is undergoing tribulations.
On Thursday, Ngunyi laughed off at Mr Githongo, who at one time flew from the country following Anglo Leasing expose, with Mutahi arguing that the former governance PS used a poor approach in exposing the scandal.
"As a Little BOY, If you SAW an OLD MAN sitting with his LEGS apart exposing himself, YOU were MEANT to WASH your eyes with SOAP. Githongo SAW Mzee Kibaki's 'NAKEDNESS', then he RAN away to TELL Muzungus What he SAW. Now the ORACLES have PUNISHED him. Justice for "John Githongo" argued Ngunyi.
Prof Ngunyi is not a stranger to controversy. Recently, he was accused of being part of the team that benefited from millions that were stolen from National Youth Service.
But Ndii has reignited the debate, claiming that Ngunyi was part of the team that stole millions from Ford Foundation, where Githongo used to work as an editor of it's media outlet.
"Theres a background to this shameless rant. Mutahi and Jonathan Moyo stole Ford Foundation money. Mutahi’s SAREAT Trust was grantee, Moyo was the Ford Prog. Officer. @JohnGithongo was Editor of SAREAT Journal East African Alternatives. He became a key witness in the matter," said Ndii.
A court sitting in Nairobi on Thursday ordered Mr Githongo to pay former Minister Chris Murungaru Sh27 million following the Anglo Leasing case. Githongo's evidence against the former Minister was found to be insufficient.
After Anglo Leasing expose, Githongo fled to the United Kingdom. However, he would return home during the Grand Coalition government following a request by the then Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
