On Friday, a group of youths from the constituency took embarked on manual rehabilitation of the road using jembes.

Speaking in the area during the exercise, Dennis Kamau a youth leader told Hivisasa they have severally requested the area MP Alfa Miruka to assist in rehabilitating the roads but their calls have been futile.

Kamau noted that they had even requested him to organise how the roads will be murramed in Getumbe, Riongoro to Sengera Bosoti.

"Its a big shame for the old to troop with Jembes to construct a road which is supposed to be done by our MP.  We have raised alarm severally to him but he has neglected the area like we never voted," said Kamau.

Jane Moraa, a resident protested saying bodaboda riders and drivers have found it difficult to access the areas. On several occasions, some have fractured their limbs after accidents with bodabodas.

"Bodabodas cannot even reach this place when it rains. We personally have broken legs due to sliding. We have decided to do it ourselves using our own resources. Lets assume we never voted for an MP," said Moraa.

Our efforts to reach the MP hit a dead-end as calls and messages went unanswered.
