Kimilili Member of Parliament Didmus Barasa has tendered his apologies to Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris over their clash in parliament on Thursday last week.
During the sitting to discuss the conduct of Wajir Woman Representative Fatuma Gedi , the youthful MP insulted and threatened to punch Passaris in the face, accusing her of shutting him down while he was making his point.
On Tuesday, he apologized to the leader, following a directive by House Speaker Justin Muturi, for referring to Passaris as "stupid" and threatening to punch her in the face.
He also proceeded to invite her for dinner on the same night.
"I apologise to Hon Passari and withdraw my remarks. I equally invite her for dinner today at 7:30 pm," he said.
The sitting had been convened to discuss the fate of Gedi, after she was found to have gone against the rules of the house by leaking confidential information to the media.
The controversial lawmaker had been found guilty of breaching house privileges by so doing, by house Powers and Privileges Committee.
However, the members in the sitting threw out the report, ruling that she is not to be punished.
