Detectives are investigating an incident where a catholic cleric was reportedly kidnapped and murdered by a gang of four criminals.
Father Michael Kyengo was reportedly kidnapped from his Thatha Parish in Machakos County on October 7, before being found buried in a shallow grave in Embu County.
The police say that the priest was subjected to a brutal murder, considering that his body and throat was slit by the said assailanta, before being buried by the riverside.
The police have established that the suspects proceeded to withdraw some money from his bank account before driving to Malindi county.
They are however yet to establish why they decided to drive to Malindi, before they headed back to Nairobi.
The police have nabbed two of the suspects, as they try to out together the reasons behind the murder, reports the Standard.
The suspects were arrested in Makindu, along Mombasa highway, while driving in the car of the deceased.
Its the group that took the police to the burial spot along the banks of River Gathingiri, with the detectives now planning to conduct an autopsy on the body as part of the probe.
Head of Special Crimes Prevention Unit Pius Gitari said that a search for the remaining two suspects has been launched.
He added that the police are pursuing crucial leaders on their whereabouts.
