Mombasa County Governor Hassan Joho is a formidable political force in Mombasa politics and possibly the region's kingpin.
The vocal governor is serving his last term in office as the county's boss.
He has since hinted going for the top seat in 2022 elections, however, his ambitions may not materialize for there seem to be roadblocks along his political journey.

Joho, once a fierce critic of Jubilee government made him a darling among anti-Jubilee supporters as he was seen as a replacement of Raila Odinga's opposition role.
Joho was on track for castigating Jubilee's divisive politics, his fame skyrocketed leaving political pundits' tongues wagging.
Daring to criticize the government wherever it erred portrayed him as a worthy leader and a hero.
The power of handshake has however dealt him a huge blow, his party boss Raila Odinga is working closely with the president, this has seen Joho watering down his criticism on Jubilee administration.
He is also enjoying a close relationship with his once political enemy, Uhuru Kenyatta.
Having nothing to criticize, Joho's fame tends to be fading compared to before and immediately after the 2017 general elections.
According to the first law in Robert Greene's Book, 48 laws of power, outshining the master is the worst mistake of all.

Close associates of Raila Odinga has hinted the possibility of Raila's name being in ballot come 2022 if that happens then Joho's ambitions will be on crossroads.
Other presidential hopefuls will also be exploiting handshake effects to woo Uhuru and Raila to endorse and throw their weights on their candidature. The fittest will survive.
Joho has since remained calm concentrating on development programs in his county.
