KPL giants Gor Mahia FC have been handed DRC Daring Club (DC) Motema Pembe while Bandari will play against Guinea's Horoya Athletic Club (AC) in CAF Confederation Cup play-offs stage, following the draw that was conducted on Wednesday night in Cairo, Egypt.
After a 6-1 aggregate defeat by USM Alger in the second round of the CAF champions league, K'ogalo was axed to the continent's second tier club competition, while FKF shield cup holders Bandari beat Tunisia's Union Sportive Ben Guardane 3-2 on aggregate to book the play-off berth with a team that dropped from the CAF champions league.
Gor Mahia will hope to replicate last season's historic performance, that saw them reach the quarter-finals in the Confederation Cup, before they went on to lose to Morocco's RSB Berkane 7-1 on aggregate.
For Bandari, it is an improvement since their 2016 awful debut as they failed to progress past the preliminary stage, and will aim to leave an indelible mark in continental soccer books.
Gor Mahia will begin at home on 27th October, while the Dockers will be on road in the first leg of the knock-out stage, before a return leg on the 3rd of November.
The play-off winners will storm to the group stages of the CAF confederation cup.
