Residents of Sameta in Kisii County are mourning the death of a man who hanged himself after his wife dumped him for another man.
The incident happened on Thursday night.
Confirming the incident area assistant chief, Benjamin Mokomba said the deceased, Boniface Ondieki a bodaboda operator arrived home and found his wife, Stella Moraa missing.
"Ondieki arrived at his home and found his wife missing. He searched everywhere before neighbors told him that she had packed all her belongings and left to an unknown destination. The deceased got angry and threatened to hang himself," said the chief.
The administrator said Ondieki returned to his house where he used a rope to hang himself.
He said the deceased mother, Gladys Nyanchama found his lifeless body hanging from the roof of his house at 10 pm when she went to check in on him.
"I alerted police officers from Sameta who arrived immediately and took the body to Kisii Level 6 hospital morgue," he said.
Mr Mokomba called on couples to solve marital differences in peace and stop taking their own lives.
