The leaders were in Kisumu and Siaya counties on Thursday and Friday last week, nine months after they pledged to shelve their political enmity and spearhead national cohesion.

In an interview on Radio Jambo's 'Mazungumzo Waziwazi' on Saturday morning, Makadara lawmaker George Aladwa said that the duo is eyeing Uhuru's backyard next.

"Baada ya Nyanza, wataelekea mkoa wa kati mwanzoni mwa mwaka ujao (After Nyanza, their next stop will be Central Kenya early next year)," he said.

The leader doubles up as a close ally of the former Prime Minister and the Chairman of his Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party in Nairobi county.

He added that Kenyatta and Odinga have as well deployed their lieutenants to help in spreading the national unity gospel.

"Sisi viongozi tulio chini yao pia tumepewa kazi ya kupeleka handshake mashinani (as their lieutenants, we have also been deployed to aid in spreading the handshake gospel)," he added.

The handshake has however been questioned by some leaders allied to the President, who now want to know the real motive behind his apparently growing closeness with Raila.

Both leaders have since made it clear that the team-up is solely aimed at enhancing national peace to give room for development.
