Political commentator Kipchumba Karori has called for serious consideration of Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua's claims that his life is in danger.
The county boss on Monday recorded a statement with the police, claiming that he has been threatened by Deputy President William Ruto, who says threatened him a great deal.
He added that he has also received similar threats from Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen and National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale, both Ruto's allies, who he says are unhappy with his attacks on Ruto.
Karori now says that the claims should not be ignored, but also warns that the county boss is known for his comical part, and could at the same time be pulling a comical stunt.
"We must take Mutua's allegations seriously but we can not ignore the comical part of it and being he was the producer/scriptwriter of Cobra squad anything is possible from him," he said in an interview on Tuesday morning.
But weighing-in on the same issue on the same interview, Thirdway Alliance Secretary General Frederick Okango dismissed Mutua's allegations in their entirety.
He insisted that the county boss needed political mileage, he seems to have gone the death threat way to achieve it.
"For Mutua to appear on all the newspapers he had to be comical and we should expect more from him," he said.
