Private investigator Jane Wawira Mugo has responded to her arrest warrant issued by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
The DCI says that it's looking for the woman over allegations of engaging in criminal activities, allegations she has since rubbished, terming them retaliatory attacks.
Speaking on Thursday, she claimed that the police are unhappy with her job, claiming that she has been working in a case that reveals corruption among top state officials.
Speaking from her safe house on Thursday, she said that she saw it coming, and had been warned by some of the officers she has been working with that trouble may erupt soon.
"I am not surprised because I saw it coming, and I had already been prepared by some of the officers I had worked with, I had already been told that since I am working on a sensitive matter, and the matter is touching on some senior government officials. So it is a total witch-hunting of the people in government who feel they are untouchable,” she said.
Wawira added that afraid of the upcoming expose she is set to air in one of the local media, the DCI wants to tarnish her name, harass and intimidate her.
“How I wish that they called me to a police station and I refused to go, and they book me so that they can be able to say I am a criminal and that I have refused to come,” she added.
Wawira who now fears for her life also wants the police to prove the robbery with violence allegations being levelled against her.
